Happy New Year!!

As 2009 approaches, I can't help but to think back on 2008.. What a year?? Daniel is a year older and a bit wilder.. Dwayne got a new job and for us now a GREAT start on life.. With his new job, I am really able to stay home with Daniel.. Which means more to me than anything... This is the year in which disaster struck our area and yet we made it through with no problems.. We have had our ups and downs but for the most part we have been just fine.. Our whole family has gotten closer to the Lord.. Which makes me so very happy.. I am excited to see what God has in store for us in 2009.. Whatever it is, I know that it is his plan and some how or some way it is what is meant to be and we will embrace it!!!

Success

Success, how do we measure it?? This is a question that I have pondered for sometime now...The Pastor at our church has just barely brushed the surface of it and yet has never come right out and told the "Christians" at our church how success is measured... so here are some of my thoughts.. Society tells us that Success is measured in the things you have, the type of job you achieve, but mostly in the things you have.. I find it really hard to say that someone is successful because they drive a certain car or live in a certain house or even wear certain clothes.. this is not Success.. Do you think Jesus was riding around Isreal on the most prestigeous horse or living in the biggest and most elaborate house?? I don't think so.. Jesus in my opinion is the most Successful person I know and yet he did not have all the "riches".. He is successful because he was himself and he did good.. His heart made him a Success. Maybe if We would look in their hearts and get rid of the evil, the greed, and the materialism, then We would resemble the image that our God has for us...I think there are a few and I mean a very few people that really are Successful.. Are you??

Finally!!

We are finally back up and running since we contracted the new nasty Internet Explorer virus... I do not wish this upon anyone!!! It is really amazing how much we depend on our computer... and how much we miss it when it is gone... REALLY CRAZY!!!

Do you Believe??

Ok so this is my very first post but I must start somewhere.. Something really neat happened to my son and I at the mall a couple of days ago that I must share with you...This is a completely true story and I have not added or changed anything..

My son and I were at Willowbrook Mall playing in the play area as we usually do on a dark and gloomy day.. There were a good number of kids here since it is about a week away from Christmas.. Well, he was playing along and I was just sitting there watching him as I usually do (making sure he doesn't dart out of the area or hurts any other kiddos). All of a sudden he stops dead in his tracks and is staring at something behind me. He had a nervous/scared appearance on his face so I looked back over my shoulder and what did I see... Santa Claus.. I really mean a man that looked just like Santa.. No he was not dressed in the typical red coat and pants or have the silly hat .. but he was wearing shorts and I believe a shirt that had something to do with Jimmy Buffet.. He was a real man.. The other peculiar thing I noticed was that he was staring MY SON down tooo...and that Daniel seemed to be the only child that even noticed this "SANTA" . Well Daniel runs to me and the man approaches. As soon as the "SANTA" reaches me Daniel blurts out "I am Daniel Ordner".. He had to repeat it a couple of times as the "SANTA" didn't quite understand... Then the "Santa" asked Daniel "Do you know who I am?" Daniel just sat there looking.. Finally the "Santa" said "I know you know who I am, it will be our secret" The man said "Merry Christmas" and then as quickly as he appeared he disappeared into the crowd of people... After this event, I sat there with a little fear for a moment as who is this stranger talking to my child.. And then the thought crossed my mind,, Maybe there really is a SANTA.... Daniel was the only child in a room full of kids that even saw this strange man.. And I am telling you he looked just like the fat, rosey cheeked man..

So the question is this... Do you Believe??? I know I do!
